The Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA) is working with the Borno State Authorities to revive the comatose Banki Border Free Commerce Zone within the state, the Managing Director, Adesoji Adesugba, has disclosed
Recall that the Banki Border Free Zone was given an working licence in 2000 and subsequently renewed in September 2011 to grant it proper to manufacturing and warehousing. However, it went into comatose following the taking up of the place by insurgency.
“We all know that the commerce zone is but to settle the excellent operational charges put at over N246.93 million masking the 12 months 2011to 2021. We have now commenced the method of reviving the world to draw native and overseas direct investments and create jobs for the folks,” Adesugba mentioned.
The NEPZA Chief government gave the reassurance when the governor of Borno State visited him in Abuja to solicit for the revival of the free commerce zone.
